Starting Fourth Grade!

It can be a big adjustment to join the grade 4-5-6 cohort. Recess, schedules, and expectations all change as the students transition to the fourth grade. As you read through the notices and packets that come home the first few weeks of school, please feel free to ask questions and clarify ANYTHING. It is so important for all of us, teacher, parents, and students, to be on the same page. I will continue to post news and information, and I hope if a question arises, you will ask in this open forum, so that the response helps everyone, especially those with the same thought. It is my way of keeping the lines of communication open for all!

October is full of special dates!

Fall is now upon us. Open house was a wonderful way to kick off our busy month. It was a pleasure to meet new families, and visit with returning ones. I hope I answered some of your questions, and allowed you to have a glimpse inside the fourth grade's full day.
Fall Fest will be taking place in a few weeks on Saturday, October 18. The day begins with a fun run/walk 5K, The Mustache Dash, at 9:00, with games, a bake sale, vendors, and fun all continuing afterwards. Please remember, our class is collecting items for our themed CHOCOLATE BASKET! All proceeds from the raffle of this basket on this day, will help pay for the cost of field trips for us this year.
At the end of the month, Parent/Teacher conferences will be taking place. This time is spent touching base with me about the start of the school year, and the goals I have for your child for the year. I am also encouraging parents to come with their goals for their child. Be on the look out for the scheduling slips with your child's appointment. Remember, times are limited, but I will do what I can to find a time that works for both of us. Until then... enjoy the colors of fall!
