"We are making a website about the Quabbin. I had fun!"
"I liked working on the computer a lot, it was really fun. I liked saving the pictures in my Quabbin folder (on our school network)."
Digital CamerasStudents were given small group lessons on the proper use of digital cameras. Each student took the opportunity to use this new knowledge first hand as they photographed artifacts and primary documents which our visitors brought into school. Students also photographed field trips with their classroom camera, Olympus C-5050. Once the photos were downloaded, they used Adobe Photoshop 6.0.1 as their image editor. |

Students used Alphasmarts to record their notes and create first drafts of their writing. This student found she needed to be resourceful when her Alphasmart's battery died. Just prior to losing all power she transferred her data to another Alphasmart and continued to work. |
